Al Dawson has been preaching the uncompromised message of faith, hope and love of the Lord since 1984. In the early stages of his ministry, he was called and served as an associate pastor in one of the nation’s first mega churches, one of the largest congregations at that time. In 1996, he and his wife Frankie, founded and pastored Daystar Church of Irving Texas. This church was combined with New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church of Irving in 2002, where he was the associate pastor. In 2006, he joined a pastoral friend in starting a new work called Discover Church of Irving. He served as worship leader, teacher and assistant pastor over 12 years. Presently, he is the Senior Pastor of Discover Church in Irving. He is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana. He has a Liberal Arts Degree from Southern University, majoring in History. He attended Word of Faith Bible School in Dallas Texas. He has a strong pastoral heart and a teaching gift. He is an excellent communicator. He is known for his practical teaching style which helps people apply the eternal truths of Scripture to their everyday lives. His ministry focus is victory in life through Jesus Christ. He and his wife Frankie have been married since 1982. They are the parents of two adult sons, David and Michael. He has three adult children by a previous marriage, Nikki, Angela and Albert. He is the proud Papaw of four grandchildren, Elaina, Xavier, Alexis and Reagan and his great grandchildren, Izaiah and Ella Marie.
